Fluffy biscuits

Welcome!

I decided my crafting and cooking exploits needed to be separated from my daily life blog.  I will still post there, I am sure of it, with some recipes and such, but I am using this as my new recipe and crafting area.

What a week to start with...the beginning of fall.  So with the beginning of fall I bring to you my best recipe for biscuits ever.

Fluffy biscuits:

yields 12-16 biscuits

2 cups flour
1 extra cup of flour
4 teaspoons baking powder
3 teaspoons granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup butter softened
1 egg
2/3 cup milk

Preheat your oven to 400 degrees and grease your baking sheet (I always line mine with foil then grease).
Mix your 2 cups of flour, baking powder, sugar and salt in a mixing bowl.
Cut in your butter and mix until the mixture is just crumbly.
Add the egg and milk and mix until just wet (DO NOT OVER MIX you will get hard biscuits).
Add the rest of the flour 1/4 cup at a time until the dough is barely sticky.

Note: I do not cut biscuits, I drop them...it keeps them softer.

Drop the biscuits using an ice cream scoop onto the baking sheet.

Bake at 400 for 10-12 minutes or until they are just golden brown.
